Harold Faltermeyer's Axel F was the lead track from Beverly Hills Cop, The Commentators' novelty track made fun of the great British sport of cricket, Madonna and Phyllis Nelson's songs were being played at the end of every school disco, "The Boss" had a double A side single out to accompany his album, and Sister Sledge proved that they weren't just disco divas from the 70s!

Simon Bates Top 40 24.10.82

Here's the first hour of one I recorded back then on a nasty "Kingsonic" branded C120. I managed to get virtually the whole show onto the computer and set about piecing it back together - the tape was absolutely ruined and will for sure never play again! I've seen the previous week doing the rounds but have never seen this one. Hope you enjoy!
